In the construction industry, there are many influencing factors for making the sector more sustainable. STABILA is also continually checking its products and processes to see how they can be made more sustainable. As early as two years ago, the company was the first manufacturer to convert an entire series of folding rules to the PEFC sustainability label. Since then, all of STABILA's wooden folding rules – the 400, 600 and 700 series – conform to PEFC, as they are made of beechwood originating from sustainably managed forests. The entire production process is transparent, from the raw material right through to the finished end product. Each individual production step is checked by independent assessors and certified accordingly.
The material used is also long-lasting in a functional sense, as beechwood is characterised by its high break resistance and elasticity. This means that the folding rules themselves can withstand heavy use in day-to-day work activities.

Also long-lasting in a functional sense: The folding rules from STABILA have hard-wearing, weather-resistant paint that ensures long-lasting readability.
Wooden folding rules are traditional tools and they are still popular among professionals and DIY enthusiasts. That is why STABILA also ensures that they are functional as well as sustainable. There are a number of important features that enable the wooden folding rules to be used for a long time, such as the rule joints that do not need servicing and ensure effortless and exact locking, and the hard-wearing, weather-resistant paint. This reliably protects the wooden sections and ensures that it is easy to read the scale for the long term, allowing precise measurement results.

The PEFC folding rules from STABILA's 400 (Fig. 1), 600 (Fig. 2) and 700 series are produced using beechwood from sustainably managed forests – the entire production process is certified.
